Reach Out For Mental Health
ROFMH offers relief from suicidal thoughts and feelings through the delivery of open and non-judgemental emotional support. We aim to reduce the number of attempted and completed suicides in Essex. We offer a variety of support for those struggling with suicidal thoughts.
We host coffee afternoons (please telephone to refer) in Westcliff and Heybridge, facilitated by a trained volunteer who either has their own lived experience of mental health problems, has supported someone close to them with suicidal thoughts or sadly might have lost someone to suicide. We offer free counselling with a Student Counsellor (who has reached a certain level of training and requires a work placement) - counselling is delivered Essex wide, via phone, virtually or face to face (in some areas). We also offer over the phone befriending support with a trained volunteer, again all of whom have their own lived experience.
This service has been checked and verified by Thurrock Council as being a community enterprise that helps with care, housing, community or health matters. The service will have the following in place: • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (where appropriate for delivery of service) • Public Liability Insurance • Other insurance where required • HMRC registration (where there's a charge for service) • Will conform to any regulations applicable to the service offered. All service providers will provide their documentation on request and prospective customers are encouraged to ask for sight of these.
