Beacon House
Beacon House Ministries is a Christian charity in Colchester offering vital support to individuals experiencing homelessness or at immediate risk of losing their homes. Our services include primary healthcare through on-site clinics, hot meals, showers, laundry facilities, and wellbeing support. We provide life skills training, access to IT facilities, housing advice, and practical assistance to help guests secure and maintain stable accommodation. The team collaborates closely with local agencies to ensure comprehensive support, empowering individuals to regain stability, dignity, and independence in a compassionate and safe environment.
We provide essential services such as primary healthcare, including on-site medical clinics, to individuals who are homeless. We also offer support for those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, housing advice, and occupational therapy to help individuals regain life skills, independence, and stability.
Our services are exclusively available to individuals who are homeless or at immediate risk of homelessness, including rough sleepers, those in temporary accommodation, and those facing immediate threats of eviction or other housing crises. Additionally, our services are only for those over 18 years old. These services are not available to individuals who are not homeless.
Beacon House is a face-to-face service. If you are in need of support, please come down to Beacon House, and we will be happy to assist you. We also provide practical support such as hot meals, showers, laundry facilities, and life skills training, all within a safe and compassionate environment. Our team works closely with local agencies to ensure that our guests receive the comprehensive care they need to regain their dignity and move forward with confidence.
Who can use this service?
How are services delivered?
Anyone currently homeless or anyone at immediate risk of losing their homes
Beacon House primarily delivers its services in person, providing face-to-face support in a safe and welcoming environment for those aged 18 and over. This allows us to offer hands-on care, build trust, and provide immediate assistance tailored to each individual’s needs.
However, we understand that in-person visits may not always be possible. When needed, we can also offer support via telephone or email, ensuring individuals can still access guidance, advice, and follow-ups remotely. Our goal is to make our services as accessible as possible while maintaining high-quality, person-centered care.
