CVST: Volunteering Support Project

Free support for Tendring residents to overcome barriers to volunteering. We offer one-to-one guidance to help individuals find volunteering opportunities that suit their interests, strengths, and personal circumstances. Our support includes personalised role matching, practical help with applications and introductions to organisations, and confidence-building to help people move forward at their own pace. This service is ideal for someone looking to reduce isolation, improve confidence and wellbeing, maintain good mental health, and remove barriers into volunteering.

We can offer up to three one-to-one sessions with our project worker to help identify the type of volunteering that may suit. Support includes reducing anxiety about getting started, identifying peoples skills and experience, and arranging or accompanying people on visits to potential volunteering organisations.

We can also provide behind-the-scenes support where needed and signpost to other services if additional support is identified. If someone is struggling to commit to regular volunteering, we can offer small group bitesize volunteering and/or taster sessions

Who can use this service?

How are services delivered?

Tendring residents who are thinking about volunteering as a way to improve their wellbeing and mental health and feel there are barriers stopping them from going forward.

After referral, our project worker will make contact & offer an initial face to face appointment/assessment.

Referral is not an automatic acceptance for a volunteering role and/or support.

If suitable, further appointments can be made and potential roles will be identified together. Practical help offered could be help with applications, visits to organsations, introductions, signposting to other support services and one off volunteering opportunities.
